Food Thali
Ganpati festival thali made in marathi community. My aunty Madhuri thought me to prepare this thali. Thali always will have batatachi sabji (Patato sabji), Vatanchi usaal ( Pea sabji), Kaat, Gulani,Puran pooli, Khoshombar, Pulav, Chaas (taak).
Lets start with doing each of them :
My Ingredients :
Patatoes : 3 medium size patatoes boiled and skin peeled, cut into cubes.
Onions : 2 big finely elongated chopped.
Green chillies : 7-8
Curry leaves : 8-10 leaves
Urid dal : 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds : 1tsp
Oil : 2tbsp.
In a wok or kadai , add 2tbsp of oil. Once the oil becomes hot add mustard seeds. Let it crackle, now add curry leaves, urid dal, green chillies and onion with a tsp of salt. Fry till onions turn there color to light brown. Now add potatoes. Give a stir.
My Ingredients:
Small Peas 2 cups soaked overnight.
Onion 2 Medium sized finely chopped
Tamatoes 1 big finely chopped
Kanda Lasun masala. 11/2 tsp " http://vismayblog.blogspot.in/2011/03/maratha-style-foodie.html"
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Salt 1 1/2 tsp.
Pressure cook soaked peas in 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 tsp salt taking one whistle.
Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan, add mustard seeds let it crackle .Than goes in chopped onion saute it till golden brown, add tamatoes saute it for a min or two.
Now add turmeric powder, Lasun kanda masala. Put cooked peas. Adjust for salt.Cook till all water evaporates.
Granish with grated coconut and chopped corriander.
